Can you book interline cruise rates online?

Yes. If you work for an airline, FedEx, UPS, DHL or in air traffic control, you can now search and book interline cruise rates online with KTE Interliner, any hour of the day, at book.kteinterliner.com.

For 15 years, booking an interline rate with me mostly meant a phone call, a text or a Facebook message. That still works, and I still answer. But crew don't keep office hours. You might be planning a cruise at 2 a.m. in a hotel on a layover, so now you can see pricing and book when it suits you.

There are no booking fees, online or by phone. Interline rates typically run 40–70% off published fares, though savings vary by cruise line, cabin category and sailing date.

Who can book interline rates online?

The rules online are the same as the rules by phone: you need to qualify for the rate you book. Each cruise line sets its own rules, and it checks them at booking and again at check-in.

      WhoUsually eligible?
Passenger airline employeesYes, this is the most commonly covered group
Cargo employees (FedEx, UPS, DHL)Depends on the cruise line
Air traffic control and other aviation staffSome cruise lines, reviewed case by case
RetireesIf the employer or cruise line recognizes retiree status
Spouses and dependent childrenOften, when the employee or retiree is eligible
Parents, friends and extended familyVaries by cruise line

Not sure where you fall? Check the eligibility page or ask me before you book. Getting this wrong has a real cost, which I cover in step 5 below.

How to book an interline cruise online, step by step

Booking online takes six steps, and registering is free.

      1. Create your free account. Go to the registration page and enter your name, email and a password. If you had an account on the old site, you need to register again.
      2. Search for your cruise. Filter by travel dates, departure port, destination, cruise line and number of nights.
      3. Log in to see your rates. Member pricing shows once you are logged in.
      4. Choose your sailing and cabin. Compare inside, oceanview, balcony and suite options.
      5. Have your proof of eligibility ready. You agree to provide it at booking. This is usually a current employee ID or badge, or a retiree ID or proof of retiree travel benefits. If you don't qualify for the rate you booked, the cruise line re-fares you to the lowest available fare and the balance is due right away. If it isn't paid, you can be denied boarding or the cruise can be cancelled.
      6. Pay and manage your booking online. Once you are registered, you can book, pay and manage your trip online, 24 hours a day.

Where to find last-minute interline deals

Start with the Departure Board if you can leave soon. It lists 3,000+ sailings boarding within the next 90 days, across the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, the Far East and more. You can filter by region, cruise line, ship, departure city, nights and month.

Prices refresh regularly and cabins are first come, first served, so when you see your sailing, grab it. Log in to see the rates, then click Book Now.

For onboard credit and other added value, check the latest offers. I update those as cruise lines send them to me.

      When to call me instead

Book online when you know what you want. Call me when your trip has moving parts. There are no booking fees either way.

      • It's your first interline cruise. I'll walk you through how the rates and paperwork work.
      • Family or friends are coming. Each cruise line has its own rules on who can travel at your rate.
      • You're not sure you qualify. Ten minutes on the phone beats a re-fare at the pier.
      • You're booking a group. I've put together parties as big as 86 people.
      • You want a sailing you can't find. I can look for dates beyond 90 days, river cruises and luxury lines.

      Online interline booking FAQs

Can airline employees book interline cruise rates online?

Yes. Eligible airline, cargo and air traffic control employees can register for free at book.kteinterliner.com, then search, book and pay online 24 hours a day.

Can I book interline rates on a cruise line's own website?

No. Interline rates aren't listed on cruise lines' public websites, so you book them through an interline travel agency such as KTE Interliner.

Is there a fee to book online?

No. KTE Interliner charges no booking fee. Cruise lines pay us, so you pay the quoted amount.

What proof do I need to book an interline rate online?

Usually a current employee ID or badge, or a retiree ID or proof of retiree travel benefits. Some cruise lines also ask for an employer letter. Family members may need proof of relationship.

Do interline rates include taxes and port fees?

No. Interline rates cover the base cruise fare. Taxes, port fees and gratuities are usually extra.

Can my family book at my interline rate online?

Often, but each cruise line sets its own rules on who qualifies and whether you must sail with them. Check with me before booking for anyone other than yourself.

How far ahead should I book an interline cruise?

Three to six months ahead is typical for popular sailings. Last-minute cabins also appear on the Departure Board, which covers sailings within 90 days.

      Ready to book?

Create your free account and start searching, or check the Departure Board for what's leaving soon. If you'd rather talk it through, call or text me at 201-970-3614.
